Oak Hardwood Floor Stains

We can finish the hardwood floors either wood stains or coating methods, depending on the purpose of each project. We can make the stains both white and red oak hardwood flooring in a variety of colors. Wood stain is different from polyurethane coating; it can penetrate into tissue of the wood. Apart from a wood stain quality, then it also helps to keep up the wood to withstand the environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and sunlight. On the other hand, we can coat wood floor with polyurethane on the surface only, it can not penetrate into tissue of the wood. Typically, homeowners are often coated interior wood floor with polyurethane because it can keep the surface of wood, durable and resistant to solvents such as water, soap and other detergents in home. Wood stain is ideal for exterior wood such as decks, stairs, and outdoor furniture.

Although we can stain oak hardwood floor in a variety of shades, but must take into account grade of wood too. For a good grade with the consistency of color and pattern, we can stain color from natural dyes, light to dark color. In the case of lower grade, oak wood floor may not have consistence of color and wood grain; we should stain darker shades for harmony of the room as possible. Using both methods is result to increasing the budget.

Note:

  1. You should consider the real samples before buying because the examples in the brochure or website will not match the real color due to limit of printing or screen display.
  2. You should select the products that comply with the conditions of the area, such as internal or external, new or old floor. In the case of old wood floor, you must aware of the existing as well, so you have to remove the original coating film before beginning the process of new hardwood floor finishing.
  3. You have to follow the instructions of the manufacturer since the surface preparation, cleaning, filling and other steps as necessary to make sure the quality of work as well as the beauty and durability of wood stain.
  4. It takes time to finish a surface of hardwood floor on site. You should consult with a contractor about working time before plan your project.
